THE HERALDIC FUND
The HERALDIC FUND is a dedicated mandate, access to which is reserved solely to Peers, Barons and Baronets of Scottish origin and to their families. The members of this fund are all under the jurisdiction of the Lord Lyon, King of Arms.
Access to this mandate is subject to strict rules and is by invitation only.

To contribute to the advancement of the interests of the Scottish Nation and People.
Perpetuating traditions and heritage across generations
In accordance with the mandate entrusted to us, we provide prudent yet nonetheless bold management of the HERALDIC FUND under an investment policy specially shaped to capture growth opportunities while ensuring long-term management intended to preserve traditions and the transfer of the estate.

Eligibility for the HERALDIC FUND is conditional not only upon lawfully holding an official dignity registered with the SBR and recognised under Scots law, but also upon holding Armorial Bearings registered in the Public Register of All Arms and Bearings in Scotland.
On that basis, the members of the fund are placed under the authority of the Lord Lyon, King of Arms.
Any Peer, Baron or Baronet wishing to take part in the fund, whether for himself or for his family, must show that these conditions are fully satisfied.
Beyond the conditions of access, the Fund is also, and above all, an opportunity to bring the Barons together around a common project. In this context, the team in charge of managing the fund regularly offers its members events designed to give more concrete expression to the bond that unites them.
These events take the form of conventions, site visits and meetings with numerous executives in the various regions where the fund’s holdings are located.
The Fund is chaired by The Much Honoured Lord of Slains (Lordship of the Regality and Barony of Slains, 27th Lord of Slains).
The Scottish tradition
Over the centuries, Scottish culture and tradition developed around the notion of Clans and a very strong attachment to its values.
It has become apparent that this unity and this tradition, which endures to this day, must adapt to the challenges of the present era without disowning its history and its values.
In this context, the purpose of the HERALDIC FUND is to contribute, beyond its financial objectives, to the preservation and development of the Scottish Nation and of its traditions in order to perpetuate and pass on its heritage. On that basis, part of the management fees is moreover paid over to the Foundation.
